Land Before Time
So Land Before Time was one of my all time favourite movie as a child. I remember coming home from school, popping in some popcorn, and in a movie. And this one was one of the movies that I would never get sick of. Of course as a child I really didn’t understand all that was going on in the movie, but watching the movie as I got older, one particular song will remain significant in the way I cope with things.
In the scene where Little Foot sees his mother as a cloud for guidance, and as she floats away the song “If we hold on together” is heard.
Don’t lose your way
With each passing day
You’ve come so far
Don’t throw it away
Live believing
Dreams are for weaving
Wonders are waiting to start
Live your story
Faith, hope & glory
Hold to the truth in your heart
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I
Souls in the wind
Must learn how to bend
Seek out a star
Hold on to the end
Valley, mountain
There is a fountain
Washes our tears all away
Words are swaying
Someone is praying
Please let us come home to stay
If we hold on together
I know our dreams will never die
Dreams see us through to forever
Where clouds roll by
For you and I
When we are out there in the dark
We’ll dream about the sun
In the dark we’ll feel the light
Warm our hearts, everyone
Every time I hear this song I get a warm feeling inside as it would automatically remind me of two special family members of mine. This song has never failed to help me cope with not being able to see them. It reminds me that holding onto memories is the one thing that holds us together. This song is also a reminder of the present family and friends that I have, that I should cherish each day and moment that I share with them.
